Should it be the responsibility of the government to make sure you don’t get too fat?

Has he overreached his authority in your life by telling you that? When the federal government begins regulating your private life, has it overreached it’s authority?
Here’s a real example of the government getting too involved in our personal lives. Someone in Washington, D.C. gets the idea that we are all getting too fat, so a new law is passed that mandates that every Starbucks print the number of calories on its muffins! Starbucks spends millions of dollars complying and then what? Do we all start losing weight? Of course not! But the price of a latte goes up to cover the added costs imposed on the company. Wouldn’t it just be simpler if we all used a little personal responsibility and payed attention to what we eat?
Oh, by the way, that law doesn’t just apply to Starbucks.
